South Pacific 2002 - the Solomon Islands Reports

Sharing the love of GodWomen Matter To God

Another life-changing conference for women took place in the Forum Fisheries Center, high on a hill overlooking Honiara Harbor.  Led by Carol Burstow, the women on the YMG team taught, shared, and ministered to women needing to intersect with the love and plan of God.

What Women Said

"I praise God today, because he has healed me from fear inside of me. I now see myself as someone capable of doing something for God." Alice Korava, Honiara

"I was feeling resentment, jealousy and hatred, so much to the extent that I was planning some dreadful things, but thank God he has delivered me from these.  I have cried many tears and God sent you to give me the message so that it will release me from these situations.  Thank you so much for obeying God to come to our country with your message." Joy Kassy, Honiara

Rev. Burstow at the helm of the Women's Ministries"The Lord has bought me here to join the woman’s conference.  I really thank the Lord for being released from my heavy burdens..  I thank the Lord so much for his forgiveness." Jemimah Tagnini, Malaita Province

"I was carrying some deep hurts in my heart for nearly twelve years, but when you shared “How to let go”- forgive, I knew it was God speaking to me.  I knew I had to forgive." Maria Wore

"I thank God for answering my prayer, that you have come explain the word of God for the women of the Solomon Island." Ane Savuleka

"I want to share my testimony about what Jesus has done for me during these meetings.  I thought I was a no-body, but I thank God that I am a woman of destiny." Miriam Babaly

"The Lord has released us from the Melanesian mentality of church, that women should not preach the word.  Today we are both released from the mind set and we are believing for great and mighty things that God is going to do through us, as we reach the people for God." Esther and Mary Joseph, Honiara
