Reports from Mission New Zealand 2000 (Week 1)

During week 1 (2000/02/11-13), Julie ministered at Hastings City Elim Church in Hastings, New Zealand.

The Hastings City Elim Church located in Hawke's Bay hosted a community barbecue which drew people into the building to hear the Auckland-based band, "Deluge", after which Julie spoke.  Five people responded to the call to accept Jesus as their Savior.

Preaching on "Healing for the Broken" drew dozens of people for prayer and intense ministry.  Many were restored, healed and cleansed.  The evening service was visited with a strong prophetic move of the Lord, with people coming forward to be released into ministry.

"The Hastings City Elim Church was truly blessed with the visit of Julie Young from the Young Ministry Group over the weekend of 11 - 13 February.  It was her first series of meetings held in New Zealand.

"The Friday night youth meeting was well attended by the church youth and Julie encouraged those present to find for themselves their individual call in God and go for it.  Many responded to her message and came forward for prayer and received much encouragement from Julie's sensitive yet direct ministry.

"Saturday morning found Julie, her support band (Deluge from Auckland City Elim Church) and some of the church youth out in the main street presenting the Gospel through music, drama, street preaching, and one on one evangelism.

"In the afternoon, Julie spoke to the Church Ministry Team and gave helpful and practical biblical instruction on how to pray and minister to people at the altar and also to take the opportunities that God presents with friends and family.

"This was followed at night by a Kiwi Bar-be-que held in the church car park to which the neighbouring businesses and homes around the church were invited to attend free of charge.  After the meal, those present met inside the church to listen to the band play followed by another stirring quality message from Julie.

"On Sunday morning Julie ministered to a full house.  She shared part of her testimony in the message and again many were challenged to go forward in God and their faith in Him.

"The Sunday evening meetings were ‘the icing on the cake’.  At 6:30 p.m. Julie spoke on "Small Things" and how ministry and God’s call start small but grow from there.

"By the end of the 7:30 p.m. service most of those present had received ministry or encouragement from Julie."

"The whole weekend was a great time of impartation and relationship building and helped to focus the church for the year that lies ahead.  Julie is welcome back any time."
